How important are color and clarity in small H&A stones? I'm considering wedding rings right now, and my e-ring is an E VS1, so I wouldn't want my band to look too warm next to it -- but the stones will be pretty small (10 pointers at the largest) so I'm wondering how many grades off I can/should go. Also, how far down on clarity? They'll be bezeled and set in platinum. I don't want to spend more than necessary, but I also don't want to sacrifice appearance by going with something that will clash with my current ring. I'd love to hear your opinions!

I read somewhere that the norm is 1-2 grades off for side stones, not sure about melees.

Ditto, I think everyone here usually says within two grades. In stones that small, I''d bet SI-1 would work fine.

I have a D colour ACA in my ering, and I recently bought a 2mm channel set band with 1pointers, F colour VS clarity, and you can''t tell the difference at all. Bugger hey? Should have some some dosh on the main stone

You would have read that here, it is standard advice often given.

Thanks, everyone! I suspected I wouldn''t want to go down much further on color, and you confirmed it
