meet my new dining room table

Okay...but could you have resisted? I was searching through craigslist and kijijii and came upon this ad. Admittedly, I had momentarily strayed from the furniture section....just a bit. It was hard to find a round table, what can I say? Anyway, this little guy needed a home. Can you believe no one picked him first? Meet Murphy Guinness, born St. Patty's Day this year, Chihuahua of Mexican-Canadian descent. He just turned 3 months and is housetrained and knows some hand signals. I got him from a dog trainer. He is tiny, under 2 kg. Maybe 2-3 lbs? I met both his parents. He's a sweet little guy. He is lovingly tolerated by his much bigger homegirl Miss Lola. I'll try to get a few shots this week, although Lola does not allow him to sit closer than one foot away so far. Enjoy!

I can see why he won your heart. Sometimes when I''m looking for something ''sensible'' on either Craigslist or kijiji, I need a ''cute fix'' and stray over to the pets section.

I was going for the Restoration Hardware look. I really was. Traditional but modern too. I actually have a dining set, it''s just very dated and too big for our small space. Murphy however, fits just fine.

I swear, he could be a calendar dog. He''s from a litter of *5*, and no, he wasn''t chosen by anyone else and sat for a month longer with the breeder while all his siblings found homes. I''ve seen a pic of all the others and he''s by far the cutest and is the only black/tan one. The good thing is the breeder is a dog trainer so she trained him along with her other dogs so he''s well behaved and socialized. She lives in a building with a lot of seniors and she would let them hold Murphy all the time, so he''s very sweet and gentle too.

Now I have to save up all over again for that table though.

Oh my gosh, he''s so squishy, warm, soft and super cuddly. He''s such a mama''s boy! Way better than a new table, yes. I''ll try get one of my daughters to take some more pics. Maybe with a tall can of Guinness?

I love my Chihuahuas although before we adopted Lola I had never even considered having one. They are awesome tough little creatures. Very intelligent and not as fragile as you would think. Murphy will never travel in a purse. He may wear a sweater in the winter, but only if he''s cold. Thanks for the sweet comments.
