Would medium fluoro in an I color have a negative effect or positive?

Not really anything you can see without a UV cabinet.

In my experience there's a lot of variables.
Some stones that GIA calls "Medium" are pretty durn strong.
There's less consistency in FL grading- it's tougher to really pin it down as compared to body color.

On some stones, I agree with dbof

In other cases I've seen I color MB stones that light up pretty nice in sunlight.

I find it lighting up in sunlight to be pretty cool. I guess I'm more concerned with it in like an office setting?

Most indoor lighting lacks sufficient UV content to "light up" an FL stone in my experience.
Unless you work in a skating rink:)

Medium fluro usually drives down the price a little bit. That's a positive. :appl:

Under anything like normal viewing conditions including indoor lighting and diffused sunlight it will have no affect at all. In high UV, like unfiltered sunlight, it will probably help. In extremely high UV, like the disco and tanning salon, it's cool.

Ditto! I also had a med blue for about 25 years and didn't even know it had fluoro until a jeweler told me one day! I now have a strong blue and rarely get a glimpse of it, but it is a beautiful phenomenon when I do!

I have an I with mbf. In direct sunlight, the stone has a hint of blue (I love it), and in my office it looks perfectly white and firey :).

I'm a huge fan!
