I understand the necessity of wearing one for diabetes, anaphylaxis etc. My FIL wore one as he was a bleeder (hemophilia). My question is should I be considering one? I have a strong allergic reaction to sulfa drugs, demerol made me very ill and 2 weeks ago cyclobenzaprine landed me in the ER. My hubbie suggested one as he says he won't necessarily remember these. I'm hesitant. Thoughts?

Oh yes. You never know what situation you might end up in. You might be alone and unconscious. Severe allergies are always important for medical personnel to know.

It doesn’t have to a bracelet. Could be medical ID on your phone, a card in your wallet, something attached to your keychain. Obviously a bracelet or another wearable is preferred for the visibility, but many things could work.

I miss Demerol! It’s rarely given these days so idk if you’d have to include that one.

Yes. It could save your life.

HI:

I would seriously think about it. While Demerol is rarely used, Sulfa Drugs and Flexeril are commonly used. I think those "alert" bracelets are a visual cue for others when you can't speak for yourself.

cheers--Sharon

I probably should have this, but worry about my private information being hacked.
Hackers, both criminal & recreational, have shown they can hack into anything.
Anything!

Sure, it could save my life.
Could!
There is that pesky odds thing again. :roll2:
I could also get killed by a drunk driver if I get into my car.

With 'coulds', each have to evaluate the pros and cons and make a call.
When it comes to yet another optional thing that requires handing over my personal information (which is today's new money) I opt out of nearly everything.

Nancy's my shero.

I have some pretty serious medical issues and need to wear one. My current favorite place to order from is https://www.laurenshope.com/ -- this doesn't keep your medical info like medicalert but has space for lots of info plus a phone number for next of kin, and I love the wide variety of clip-on bracelets -- they look a lot less industrial. My current fave is the rose "gold" MOP ID with pearl/rose bracelet.
