After a lot of soul (and Pricescope) searching, I decided in March to have Maytal make me a new engagement ring using a .79 round brilliant and transform the original ring into a pendant. I received the new ring and pendant yesterday and I am beyond thrilled! Maytal is the most amazing and talented artist! I wanted to keep the style of the ring similar to the original -- a very small and delicate Tiffany legacy cushion - and Maytal designed the new ring with classic pave and milgrain, so that it keeps the vintage feel I love so much. The pendant also perfectly evokes my original ring. I can't get over the intricate workmanship and the halo proportions are exactly right. Hand forged is the way to go; you can just feel and see the difference in quality. Working with Maytal was such a great decision. Not only is she a fabulous designer, she is a truly lovely person -- incredibly responsive, patient with my many questions, and very reassuring about the process of getting pieces custom-made. The cost was really reasonable. And, somehow she managed to keep the work going through the pandemic lockdown, communicating with me about delays that came up and clearly working diligently to minimize them.
