May have EC pics, etc tomorrow - strmrdr !

strmrdr, i''ve really appreciated all your replies and all of you (Chrono, neatfreak, etc.) who have been coaching me through this process. what a great forum.

i might have some pictures to post tomorrow. bob at whiteflash is helping me and i''ve officially "called one in". yikes! it''s that one i posted about last friday. y''all said it looked good on paper.

i''m counting on your honest opinions!

whiteflash will have idealscope images and two photographs, but not magnified pics. (why no magnified pics? i should ask bob.) regardless. i''ll get what i get and if i like it, i''ll be counting in your help! especially all the EC experts and lovers! strmrdr, will you be around tomorrow night?!?!

i''ve only seen ONE EC diamond in person that I''ve actually loved. the others have been decidedly underwhelming. the reason i didn''t get that one is b/c it was too expensive, and its girdle was ''extremely'' thin. but the cost alone was the dealbreaker.

this stone coming in tomorrow needs to be at least 2 cts. the sarin said 1.98 (measurement) the the GIA cert stated it weighed 2.01 cts. bob assures me that the weight really should be accurate.

it''s hard putting your trust in others when you can''t see the diamond in person. i really, really hope that bob will give me his own candid assesment of this stone when he eyeballs it. if it''s not wonderful, i hope he''ll tell me so. he assures me he will. gosh, i''ve been "taken" so many times and now i am buying a diamond online?! is it crazy? i can see that so many of you have done so and i''m going forward with the process so far...but i''m in the midst of another situation where i am absolutely being taken to the cleaners by furniture refinisher it just makes me so mistrustful of human nature when money is concerned. nothing against bob or whiteflash. he''s been perfectly helpful thus far.

just getting a little nervous is all.

see if you can get an aset image it shouldnt be a problem.

bob said no aset image is available. what to do? get one from an appraiser? does an independent appraiser do those and if so, who? only idealscope from whiteflash b/c he said they just haven''t gotten to doing them for ECs just yet.

lets see what we can see from the pictures they provide and take it from there....

I''ll be around too if it isn''t too late, otherwise I''ll see it in the morning. I think we can make a pretty educated decision based on the Idealscope and actual pictures. I hope it''ll be a winner.
