Hi all,
I am working on a custom setting and contemplating the finish of the ring. I have always had high polish rhodium plated white gold. The ring we are basing mine off of is a matte finish platinum. I am not sure I can afford to do it in platinum, will most likely be white gold.
How would a matte finish ring hold up over the years? It seems like it would not show scratches as easily, but then again if you got a deep scratch you couldn''t just have it polished out. Also would the matte finish take away from the brilliance of the stone looking sort of "dull"?
Anyone have a matte finish ring that can share their experience?
Thanks in advance and here is a photo of the design we are working on (photo and ring design by Ralph Rayner of Rumour Jewellery, London)
