Hello All,

Went shopping today with the fiance' and here is what we came up with regarding maternity bands. I think they are good prices but we will see. Can you tell me if this is a decent price. I think it is but we will see. Here is the best deal I came up with shopping at the Jewelry Exchange in NJ. I haven't yet gone to the place I bought the e-ring yet because I want to get an idea first before I go there. I am expecting that owner of the place I got the e-ring to beat the best price I could find in Jersey, but surprisingly I found some excellent prices here. Here is the best deal I came up with:

Maternity Band
2 CTS.
Prong Setting
Diamonds: SI and G
Price: $1200

We went to 5 places and asked for the same thing the prices were the following:

$1800, $1650, $1575, $1400, and the cheapest listed above. All the diamonds looked very nice and sparkly. My Fiance' is a size 7 ring finger.

How do these prices seem ? Are they high ? Low ?

maternity? like with pink or blue sapphires?

or eternity, little diamonds all around?

i think you mean ''eternity'' band
unless you are speaking of a ring that symbolizes motherhood...which i guess could be called a ''maternity band''

Sorry I mean Eternity. I''m such a guy

www.signedpieces.com has some of the best prices on high quality, well cut eternity bands. you can compare prices there. just like any other piece of diamond jewelry, you get what you pay for.

I just had to say, my husband and I got a kick out of the "maternity" band comment :D A pink and blue "maternity" band would be sweet though :)

Hey, it makes sense to me - I had a "maternity" band because when I was preg my fingers were like sausages and nothing would fit LOL Of course it was just a 2mm plain gold band I got for $60 LOL

I was wondering if you were planning a wedding and expecting a baby, too!

I bought an eternity band in June from Signed Pieces/Facets. They have reasonable prices and use only ideal and premium cut stones, usually VS clarity. So they have very nice quality and their prices are good in comparison to the same quality elsewhere.

I''m glad everyone got a laugh. If you could tell me if that is a good price that would be great. ! Thanks

BTW These diamonds are so small the difference between VS2 and SI probably is not even possible to detect by the naked eye let alone from 5 ft away. So getting VS is not really a concern.

i give up

yes...good price

enjoy!

I think what everyone is trying to say is that there is more to a good buy besides color and clarity. You need to consider the cut of the small diamonds too for maximum sparkle. In small stones, it''s hard for us consumers to tell so a lot of people on this board buy from trusted vendors such as www.signedpices.com and www.whiteflash.com that use ideal or premium cut melee stones in their rings.

You really do get what you pay for. I always giggle when I''m going through the Sunday paper and I see 1 carat diamond studs for $499. A well cut pair of .50 carat stones would cost at least $2200-$2800 depending on the color and clarity.
