I bought my girlfreind a loose diamond for her birthday a little while back and now I want to use that stone as a sidestone in a three stone engagement ring. The stone is GIA certified but I am having trouble finding a matching stone. The closest one I have found is about the same in all catagories exept it is .37ct where as my stone is .36ct. That doesn't seem like much of a difference to me but I am not sure if would be noticable or even if it is considered normal to have slightly different weight stones as sidestones. Thank you for all help in advance =)

Can you post the certificates for both? The measurements of the stones will matter more than carat weight since different weights can face up differently. Like, I have a square radiant that is .55 but measures 4.73x4.75mm, but I hav seen other .55 stones that are 4.65mm. Color should also be similar for your purposes, as well as being close to the center stone color.

I agree with Rubybeth. The weight matching exactly is not the issue. The diameter, table size, cut and color are the things that need to be matched. We can help you if you post the cert.

Yep my stone is GIA 6147845564 and the one I'm looking at is GIA 2126715490
