Match non-ideal diamond for earrings?

I have a round diamond from my old engagement ring that I want to eventually find a match for. Is it overkill to get an ACA to go with it if the cut is very good based on the GIA cert?

Yes, you are correct... do not get an ACA to pair with your “very good” cut GIA stone. There will be no comparison and the contrast will be discernible.
Beyond that, you also want to think about table size and color when matching stones. Given they are on opposite sides of your head as earrings, you have more flexibility, but things to keep in mind.

Angles are in gia ex the good polish kicked it down to vg.

I just took some pictures today. I also took a picture of the stone next to my current pair of earrings that are .40 each.

What is a realistic prince range that I should expect for a matching stone?

Life got the best of me and I'm just now getting around to finding a diamond to match. Any thoughts on this one?

Stats on the current stone I own is below and what I'm considering is attached. Measurements look fine but the tables do not match. Should I keep looking?

Just FYI. I was in the same exact situation as you, a very good old ering. I bought a WF expert selection to match. So glad I did because I can upgrade that stone with WF if I wanted to. Just sayin'. Do whatever works best for you.
