I saw this in Monnie's thread "POLITICAL--OK, I GAVE HIM A CHANCE, NOW I'M DONE."

Thanks for posting this Monnie. I tried to do a Trumpet today but the news is so revolting and depressing that I just couldn't do it. Several sources have reported that one of his nominees S. Mnuchin and his chief strategist S. Bannon are registered voters in two states. Isn't that ironic....

Don't give up! We're in good company, both here and see below!

Employees from governmental agencies that are being muzzled by President Puss-Grab are still delivering information:

And look at what Greenpeace did! This is just the beginning!

Be strong! Persevere! Resist!

Ladies and Gentleman (Kenny! :cheeky: ), we're not even a week into this. We've got a long road ahead until the impeachment. Stay the course!

Totally agree with these three actions, but I think we need to add a fourth action or these 4 years will pass us by and we will be unprepared for 2020.

That fourth action is to work to bring others along with us ie find someone who didn't vote in 2016 or someone who voted for trump and is becoming frustrated and encourage that person to join us

LOL Dee*Jay....today's Trumpet was going to be all about resisting but you beat me to it. Darn you early rising east coasters.

I agree! Perhaps we can even get those people registered to vote in multiple states like Puss-Grab's daughter and Mnuchin!

GOOD MORNING!

Please do not let me steal thunder from the Trumpets -- post away!!!

I was just verklempt when I saw your comment and wanted to tell you how much we (the collective we, excluding those who are not part of this particular "we"!) look forward to the info and commentary you give us. (BTW, it's not fair for the burden to be disproportionately on you, and other people do post a lot of good stuff, but let us know how we can help with the Trumpet so you don't feel like you're stuck with this.)

As for the early rising east coasters... don't forget I'm in Chi-town so it was TRULY early for me being one time zone over! I was reading PS in bed, saw your message, and got all riled up before I'd even had coffee. And anything that happens BEFORE I've had coffee makes me ten times as mad as anything that happens AFTER I've had coffee!!!

Please do not confuse us Midwestern flyover country Central Timers for East Coasters! Dee and I have to represent here in the land of guns and confederate flags and oh yeah, Trump flags! (Ok, maybe that's just me--she's in a major metro area and I'm not.)

Seriously, I passed a confederate flag yesterday next to a sign advertising $99 boots at a Western wear store. This is about midway through my commute--before and after the confederate flag there are signs about a certain figure with blue eyes and light hair who wears sandals and white robes and that place one allegedly goes when they die and how to get there. (I try to look to the other side of the road as I pass by, onto the giant field of solar panels because I am reminded that science and not science can peacefully coexist.)

When you turn onto my street, there is a house with a Trump flag on its flagpole, DIRECTLY ACROSS from the home of a family of Mexicans. No comment.

Good morning Monnie! I figured you're be here as soon as you got done milking the cows and baling the hay!

You're right, Chicago is "better" than being in a rural midwestern area in this scenario I'm sure, but it's still way too full of 'dem 'der Rumpers.

LOL about your commute. The only way to sanely make a drive like that is with blinders on!

Hahahaha! You just described my childhood!

I remember a few R's from living there. A few of them were connected, so there's that.

The town to and from which I commute a few days/week is really interesting. It's 80% R, with a very small population (4 figures) and has the largest rural PRIDE festival in the state. The HQ for PRIDE is directly across the town square/courthouse from the 2016 Rep. HQ.
A challenge for the area is education/schools, and I've been working with the Superintendent and principals to bring attention to that and hopefully foster change/improvement, but it's a tough crowd. For example, the high school REALLY wanted a new turf installed on the football field, and were angling for $1 million due to pressure from certain citizens who don't give a whit about quality of education but gotta have their Friday night concussions! Campaign to get every student a Chromebook? Heavens, no, what good will that do to get them there fancy devices into the hands of little perverts who will just look at ****? Put them boys to work in sports and the lord to keep their minds off fornicatin'! The other 20% on the whole don't have children and therefore are not super concerned about what goes on with the school system. It is a very strange dichotomy.

Go Trumpet! more jobs for America!... :appl:

If you're a progressive looking for bright spots, we should be grateful the new administration has decided to use a sledgehammer rather than a scalpel. By trying to silence and dismantle and reverse everything from day one, they've set themselves up to be far less effective than they would otherwise be. The more dangerous strategy would have been to wait until they had people in place to create an atmosphere of 'going along to get along.' By trying to silence and paralyze so many government agencies at once from outside, the new normal is now active resistance.

Can you imagine someone coming into a federal agency with no government experience armed with an agenda to gut what they do? It's very hard to control or bully people when they know more about the system than you do. If you think the federal government operates at a glacial pace now, wait until you see them being forced to implement policies and programs they don't like. You want no publicity on what you're doing so you cut off every source of outside communication? Alternate Twitter accounts are springing up everywhere and apparently there are so many leaks from the inside, reporters don't have enough time to follow them all up. There isn't a step this administration takes that won't be leaked to the press. And there is safety in numbers. You can plug and prosecute a few leaks in the dike, but you can't if they are everywhere. And you'd have to rely on investigators and prosecutors who may be less than thrilled with your mission. Not a recipe for success.

If they'd been smarter and hidden their ambitions a bit more, they'd have been far more dangerous. The way to cook a frog is to turn the temperature of the water up slowly so the frog doesn't notice. If you start the water at boiling hot, the frog is going to react and jump out. There are already too many jumping frogs for this administration to catch and put back in the pot.

Will they still do a lot of damage? Absolutely, but they've also poked a stick at a lot of bears that are much larger and more ferocious than they could have imagined. Great things - long lasting things - could come from all those bears fighting together.

Viva la resistance!!
