I went down to Sarasota yesterday to view my potential diamond at Richard Sherwood's lab. This is the first diamond that I looked at and it couldn't be more perfect. It's absolutely stunning. There is nothing I would change about it. When I first met Richard he said, "wait until you see this diamond, it's amazing." He was absolutely correct. Much thanks to Richard and USA Certed for all of their help. Richard's appraisal was very informative and he helped me to understand everything I could about the stone. Hopefully, I will have the diamond on Mon. or Tues at the latest. I cannot wait. Of course, I'll have to get used to waiting because the setting will take 4 weeks and then I must wait for the proposal. Here are the specs. Pics to follow when I get the diamond.

Sounds great, how are you going to set it?

I cannot WAIT to see this stone! Do tell, what do you have in mind for it?!

That's my favorite shape. Sounds like you picked a great one. (If you get a chance, see the film "The Great Gatsby" with Robert Redford & Mia Farrow. Mia Farrow's character, Daisy, wears one of the most beautiful Marquise diamonds I've ever seen. All the jewelry in the movie came from Cartier.)

Sound Fab. Can''t wait to see

I love the marquise too!!!

I found an heirloom piece at a local jewelry store and instantly fell in love with it and luckily the original manufacturer will be able to custom make one for my marquise. It will be set east-west in a platinum setting. There is 3 sided pave on the band and, well, it is just really different and hard to describe beyond that. The part that holds the diamond curves upward, kind of like a canoe. I have never seen anything like it. When it''s done I will post lots of pictures.

WOW. That setting sounds INSANE and the stone just as gorgeous. Can''t WAIT!

Thanks everyone for the enthusiasm! Lots of pics to follow.

sounds like your ring is going to be phenomenal and unique! totally cannot wait to see it

What a beauty that stone is. Not only is the D color and VS2 clarity breathtaking, but the cut is simply amazing. The diamond just blazes away, lively all over. It has a faceting pattern that practically eliminates any bow tie effect.

The 2 to 1 length to width ratio is so pleasing as well.

A very elegant diamond... Matches Jazmine nicely. I emailed her some photos she might post.

Shay is tapping foot. Where are the pics? Come on. Come on. We know you have them. Richard ratted you out.

Wow, that sounds like an amazing project! Be sure to post pictures once it''s done!

I think setting marquise stones east-west is so great looking.
I believe (but don''t quote me) Catherine Zeta Jones has a marquise set like that.
