Hello all, I''m a Navy flight student who has been lurking for a while and I''m finally starting to narrow down what I''m looking for. Online shopping seems to make the most sense because no stores in the area are stocking more than one or two marquises in the range I am looking for and all of them seem to charge much more. My budget is in the 2000-2500 range for the stone. I have been working with whiteflash and have come up with the following diamonds. Wondering about some opinions on the three following stones They all appear to be within the ideal cut standards aside from girdle thickness which I really don''t think I understand as it seems to be very difficult to find a stone that does well in the other areas. G-H was the lowest color grade I felt comfortable with in the stores and SI1 the lowest clarity. Oh also I tend towards the marquises on the slightly fat side as two of these stones are, but 2:1 looks just fine as well.

The only usefull info I ever get from these reports is girdle thickness and L x W.
One has no GT - one is thin in one place - if it is the tip then no way.

One is very thick which can be wasteful,
We need ASET photo''s and you need an appraiser

Hi again notso - love the username!

Garry is one of our experts and gives great advice as usual, we really need ASET images to be able to help, unfortunately you can't tell much by the numbers with these shapes.

Thanks a lot,
Whiteflash is going to get me photos and more info on the .75 and the .86. As far as girdle thickness is the thin at the tips concerning because of possible damage? The setting I have planned will protect the tips, so perhaps this is not as much of a concern? Also a question with regards to independent appraisals. Do most of you prefer to be present when the appraisal is made. I thought this might be the case so I''ve been trying to find someone locally. Thanks again.

Yes, but WF will let you know if this is a concern. As to the appraisal it you don't have to be present, here is a tool you can use to find an appraiser in your area.
