marquise amethyst

I was at my local B&M (and they are wonderful) when I saw this in the estate case. I have lots of amethyst (my Mom''s favorite stone) and i have never seen one cut like this before AND the color is SO DEEP.

Thank you for sharing. Do you have any information on it like the measurement and carat weight?

Not sure on the carat weight, but it is about 1 CM (10MM) long and under over 1/2 CM (4.5-5 MM) wide. It is really long compared to its width. A marquise for sure, no m-oval cut here.

No idea on the carat. when I compare it to my 2.63 CT pear diamond, I would say it is less than half the total volume of the diamong.

But I don''t know specific gravity of amethyst compared to diamonds.

It is set in 14 Kt gold.

Here it is compared to the diamond of known weight.
