long story short I'm curious if people are willing to pay anywhere close to the original price of a setting for a used setting. I am looking at buying a ring that comes in a designer setting (platinum, ritani) that goes for about $3500. Problem is I am only interested in the center stone and am worried I won't be able to sell the setting for much. There is a similar one on ebay right now for $255 with zero bids. If I cannot get 500-1000 for the setting I'm not sure the deal is worth it for me.
What do you all think? Could this setting fetch that sort of price? Its listed in the FS section now. 1.01ct ritani solitare.
I think it is reasonable to regive a diamond, as they don't change or wear, but it just seems cheap to give someone a used unoriginal setting, agree?
