I have had quite the journey in finding my dream ring ( If only I never tried the Tiffany novo - at $33,000 no less on!!) . I will spare you ALL the details, but I will say that Mark Turnowski is THE BEST person to deal with if you are looking for a diamond, especially a cushion. I have been hiding in the background reading all the posts for about two years 
I am all the way in Australia, so this was a HUGE deal for me to put my trust in an overseas company, but it was all worth the risk. I am over the moon with my ring!! In fact, I walked into Tiffanys the other day just to compare and I think mine is BETTER!!! I went for the 'beatrice' http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/beatrice-cathedral-4-prong-micro-pave-engagement-ring-bpid-255-16.html , and it's perfection!
If you are looking at shopping online from Austraia - DO IT . (#1. because our $$ is better at the moment #2. Going direct will get you cheaper wholesale prices ( I paid around half of what Aust 'wholesalers' were offering) , he is right in the diamond district in NYC so he can quite literally walk upstairs and have a look at thousands of diamonds for you # 3 You will get the best customer service you have ever had in your life). I was a painful customer I would ask thousands of questions, and Mark was always kind, often replied within minutes (from NY in the middle of their night!!??) and so well educated on diamonds, especially the cushions I was after. He gave me great price for the diamond I wanted ( once I had the Gia cert # , I searched it myself and other online wholesale companies were selling the exact same diamond for up to $3,000 more!) He found me what I wanted, within my price range, with excellent symmetry ( I wanted it to be perfect square/round) within about 24 hours, with Gia and pics!! He NEVER once pushed the sale onto me either. This man is full of integrity. Once I said yes go ahead, it was made within 3 weeks and arrived within days of completion. I cannot rave about this perfect experience more ( especially compared to the time I got laughed out of a jewellers on the Gold coast with my budget- it was AWFUL). I stopped looking in shops here then,and grateful I did. I got much better value for my money by going through Mark @ ERD.
In the end, I got the most perfect, super sparkly, white, gorgeous ring ( 1.04 ct with Gia, G, VS2, cushion with pave side stones in platinum) . Every day I tell me ( now) fiance how much I love it. Clients notice it as soon as I walk in the room, people always comment on it and assume we spent much more than we did on it. I do not usually spend large amounts of money on myself, so this was a huge deal for me ( oh also remember that you have to pay the GST when it arrives which is 10% , but still beats Aussie prices) but I do not regret it at all. I smile every time I look at it, which makes it all worth it for my Fiance.

My fiance had to hide it from me for a few weeks and when he pulled it out ( on one knee, in our lounge, it was perfect) and when I saw the actual ring I cried I was so happy.
