Mark Schneider band w/round cut diamond - okay price?

I''m considering getting the Mark Schneider "Adore" in 14K white gold (seen here: http://www.markschneiderdesign.com/detail.asp?recid=8&ringname=Adore) along with a round cut diamond with the following specs:

Color: G
Carat: .90 ct
Clarity: SI2
Cut: Ideal

The two look great together. I was quoted a price of $4,900 for the diamond + $1,500 for the band == $6,400. Is that a reasonable price for the diamond or is it absurd ?

No comment on the diamond, but the few Mark Schneider pieces I have seen have all been excellent quality craftsmanship.

I hardly know a thing about diamonds, but I did a QUICK search on this site and came up with one with similar specs for $3030 - $3100?

I am by no means an expert, but from "comparison shopping" on some other diamond sites, the price for the diamond seems a little high

It's kind of a pain to find jewelers that carry his stuff, but now that I've seen it in person it was worth the trouble. I think she will love this design.

Thanks to people who did comparison shopping - I also did a comparison on bluenile.com and found similar quality diamonds for <= $1400 less.

They say they will, although it will cost some. And the price they quoted me was for a package deal, so I''m sure the price of the ring will go up when I tell them I''m bringing my own diamond.
