Hi there,
this is my first post, though I''ve been a long time lurker! My boyfriend and I are very close to picking the stone for my e-ring, it''s a 1.75 carat cushion brilliant, F color, VS2 clarity. we''ve been looking into the right setting for it and we saw this gorgeous Mark Patterson setting at Michael C Fina:

The picture doesn''t quite do it justice. It''s very delicate (1.8 mm band) and it has these very subtle crescents on either side. the setting was designed for a round brilliant, and we''re thinking of getting a similar version custom made for our cushion (with a 2mm band, we''re afraid 1.8 might not be strong/secure enough), but I''m wondering if it would work on a rectangular cushion (ours is 7.91x6.82x4.41 - a 1.16 L/W ratio)
Has anyone seen a similar setting with crescents on a cushion, or on any kind of rectangular stone?
Also, does anyone have any experience with Mark Patterson settings in general?
I''m hopefully taking a picture of the stone later today!!!!! I''ll post it once i get it
