My DB and I paid a visit to Michael C. Fina yesterday to take a look at the Mark Patterson settings we''re interested in. After viewing all 3 versions of the same design, we both agreed that this was our favorite version:
Mark Patterson Setting - Crescent Pave, Plain Band

Now we are trying to decide between a diamond (his preference) and a sapphire (my preference). I''ve seen a few stones that I like and was recommended this sapphire by Ed from Wildfish (very nice guy):
Wildfish Sapphire

Do you guys think these two would be a good match? I''ve photoshopped them together and attached an image of the Sapphire inserted, although not adjusted proportionally for size, but can''t tell if they are a good fit since I''ve been looking and obsessing for way too many hours today.

Thoughts/comments?

I absolutely love the idea of sapphire and this beautiful setting paird together. The diamonds on the crescent will really make your stone pop.

Maybe for your ering, you could get the sapphire, and later for anniversary your DH could then get what he likes such as a diamond Right Hand Ring for you.

I think they''re beautiful together! Very elegant. The contrast between the sapphire and the diamonds will surely be eye catching!

Is there a reason you''re leaning to a non-traditionally colored sapphire? I''ve never seen that color in person and I was just wondering? Its a very pretty setting and I think they would look nice together.

Have you seen the colored genstone forum on PS? http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/forum.asp?forumID=11 There are many consumers there who are amazing experts in colored gems. If you go that route, PLEASE post there and get their help, you will be so glad you did!

Oh! Sorry Dreamer! I wasn''t sure which forum to post on since it included a ring setting. I will be posting over there in just a few! Thanks!

Don''t apologize! I just want to make sure that the right folks see it and can help you get a killer sapphire if that is what you really want!

I just think it''s a beautiful color. The traditional sapphire blues just didn''t speak to me and the "lighter" ones have just been grabbing my eye since I started looking. Plus, I like being a little rebellious and not following the rules - first, no diamond and second, a sapphire, but not the traditional blue.

wow would that be a pretty ring, I absolutely love it!

If that is what you choose I cannot wait to see the finished product

but honestly that setting is really nice that either a diamond or sapphire would look amazing
