Marcy, I love it!!!!!!!!! It is very flattering on you and it is a great length. I love it straighter too. You look beautiful honey.

Thank you Linda. It''s pretty much how I want it to look after I get my perm - I like wash and wear hair.

Marcy, I am sorry about the hernia; my mom had one. They sound awful!!! I am loving watching Anderson Cooper 360; I never watch the show before until you and your picture! hahah

Skippy, they thought my hernia was so small and I was the last patient for the day at an outpatient surgery facility that they didn''t put me out. Then it turned out to be HUGE - I wish I hadn''t been awake for that. It was not something I would call "fun". Oh well, what doesn''t kill you makes you stronger. I am sorry to hear that your mom had a hernia. Is she all over it now? That is great you are enjoying Anderson Cooper 360. It''s a great program.

We went shopping at Whole Foods today to pick up some meats and fruits / vegtables. Yummy! We took a cooler and bought a bag of ice to get everything home. I wish we had one locally.

Marcy, I really like your new do!! Your hair color is so pretty!!!

Thank you, Joflier. I bought a curling iron with a brush - I am going to give it a try in the morning. Wish me luck.

Marcy, kudos to you! You look great and I am sure you feel even better! How incredible.

You and your hubby sound like you enjoy one another which is great. Laughing and having fun is so healing.

I saw your heart ring, and love it. I actually like hearts too, especially in a pendant, I think they are lovely.

It is nice to learn about you!!!

Thank you so much, Diamondfan. I am enjoying my new life a great deal. I am delighted to hear you like hearts too. I have quite a few pieces of heart jewelry.

My friend got a gorgeous, large heart shaped diamond for the birth of her daughter. She wears it on a thin platinum chain and it is stunning.

You SHOULD be enjoying it! You have worked so hard. I need to lose some weight, not tons, maybe 10 pounds, and I KNOW how to eat, small meals, complex carbs, no sugar, no refined flour, but yet I am having such issues making it happen. It takes A LOT of work and a lot of effort to lose weight and to stay motivated. You should be very proud of yourself.

Diamondfan, your friend's heart diamond ring sounds gorgeous. I honestly don't know what clicked in me to make myself motivated enough to lose all that weight but I didn't even find it that hard. I guess once I became determined to do it that was it. I continue to work on it one day at a time. Good luck with losing a few pounds. It goes so slow when you don't have a lot to lose. Take care.

I struggle even when I try to take it a day at a time right now. Food is tough, we use it to comfort ourselves and it is not healthy. I know how to eat well but sometimes the bad stuff is more fun and easier to grab on the run. It does take work to make the good choices fit into our routines. I just feel unwell with my chronic stuff and it is hard to get kick started.

I have joined the daily Spark, do you love them? I get emails all of the time!!!

Diamondfan, yes I am on Sparkpeople and get the daily spark. They are great. I am totally in to comfort food but I found what worked for me is to eat things I want but I just have to watch my portions. I eat miniature dark milky ways for 35 calories, I eat low fat ice cream and even eat french fries at lunch. I will eat 10 fries and that satisfies me. I actually eat fast food for most of my lunches but stick with things like plain burgers (and sometimes throw 1 bun away), 10 fries, 2 hard shell tacos, roast beef sandwiches with baked lays. Most of the fast food restaurants have nutritional info online so I went and picked out what I can eat for my calorie range at lunch. I so agree it is hard to eat well sometimes. Sorry to hear you feel unwell with your chronic stuff. Feel free to elaborate if you wish.

Lol - Good luck! I''ve never used one with a brush. Actually, I usually end up getting any ol'' curling iron tangled up in my hair, and then wind up burning my self - oh my poor neck!
2.gif
So for my own safetly, I mostly stick to flat irons.

You are my hero for many reasons. The fact that you lost an entire person is just AMAZING.
36.gif
I find the fact that you crochet, knit etc. almost as impressive.
3.gif
I tried to knit once and it was a disaster...

What a sweet story about how you and Marty met! I''m a horrible hider as well.... your giggling story sounds exactly like something I would do.

It''s no wonder you love to star gaze- I used to go to Lone Tree Bible Ranch in Wyoming with my church group and I remember being AMAZED and STUNNED at the amount of stars! You can see the milky way - I live near so many lights my star options are limited.

Marcy, I don''t hand out on the who''s who too often, so I just wanted to tell you (not that you ever wondered to begin with) that you are a very special person to me and you are such ahero for the amazing transformation you''ve undergone. We''ve been HLT friends for what seems like a lifetime, but you never cease to amaze me and I am honored to be your friend for sure!!

Joflier, I didn’t do very well with the curling brush.Sorry to hear you burned yourself.I tried a flat iron once and burned myself with it.I think for our own safety we should just have straight hair.Tee hee.

Geckodani, thank you so much for the lovely compliment.I often look at people and think “I’ve lost more than you weigh”.It still boggles my mind.Too funny about you being a horrible hider like me, I keep trying though only because I am easily amused. What city is that Bible school near? There is a Lone Tree between Cheyenne and Laramie but I don’t recall a bible school near there.I am glad you enjoyed our stars while you were here. What city do you live in?

Rod, thank you so much for considering me your friend.I consider you a good friend as well.I’ve grown quite attached to many of the HLT group and you definitely have a special place in my heart.I treasure your words of wisdom and encouragement and I always look forward to hearing about your day. While I don’t really think I am a different person I do have to step back and look at the dramatic different life I have now. Your amazing transformation from "Rebuild Rod" was from hard work which you faithly continue even with your uber long days; mine seems more like the tortoise but as our wise friend Lorelei often reminds us slow and steady wins the race.

Here''s the link to Lone Tree Bible Ranch: http://lonetreebibleranch.com/ We had so much fun when we''d go! I live in Auburn Hills, MI, so the drive was brutal, LOL.

Wow marcy I am so glad I read this part of the forum, as opposed to just the Healthy Lifestyle part.

I have to say you look SOOO much younger in your after pics! It''s so awesome that you did all of this for yourself. It is also so refreshing to hear how happy you and your husband are after so many years. I hope me and my boyfriend will be that happy in 12 years!

I don''t know if you said this but do you have any kids?

Gecko, thanks for the link. The bible ranch is near Glendo. That’s about 2 ½ hours north of me.That would be quite a drive for you clear out here.

Asschers, thank you for the lovely compliment.I don’t know what I like hearing better that I am thin or that I look younger.I appreciate them both.Tee hee.

I hope you and your boyfriend have many happy years together as well.We were at dinner with Marty’s parents about a month ago and my MIL said something about how hard you have to work at being married.I didn’t say anything but Marty said “we don’t”.She was kind of shocked and looked at him funny. He said “we don’t have to work at it at all”.Neither one of us seem to find it a challenge to be married. We enjoy each other’s company and space and we respect each other enough not to play games or hold grudges.I guess we are lucky or unusual. No, we don’t have any children but sometimes we act like them.

Marcy,

I fully understand what you mean. Rick and I don''t have to work at marriage either and a lot of people find that quite strange. I have been accused of lying by a neighbor down the street too. She told me Rick and I are "too close" and it isn''t normal. HA!!!! I found that to be rather funny.

When you have inner peace with yourself and your spouse, it is just really hard to explain to others isn''t it? I fully understand what you mean though.

I know I told you before, but you look gorgeous and I am so proud of you.

Love, Linda

Linda, I am glad you and Rick don''t have to work at marriage either. That is funny you run in to people that find it strange or don''t believe you too. We just think we are pretty abnormal and pretty lucky. We are very comfortable with each other and that is so nice. Thank you so much for the lovely compliment. You are an amazing sweetie and I am so glad we are friends.

You and Marty sound so cute!!! Any more trips planned for next summer?? Have you been to Tahoe? It sounds beautiful but I have never been.

Marcy, I am so glad we are friends too. I so hope one day, Rick and I can travel to Wyoming and we can meet you and Marty. We would love to travel with our 5th Wheel and go camping with you.

Skippy, we have not been to Tahoe but I''ve hear it''s lovely. That would be a good trip next summer - cheaper gas wise than our trip to Glacier. Mmm, I''ll have to think about it. We are going on a trip for sure though. This year was so much fun. Do you have any trips planned for next year?

Linda, I would love to meet you and Rick. Definitely it would be a blast to go camping together. Do you have any trips planned for next year.

I go my spinel from Customegemstones today and LOVE it. Here is a photo of it setting in my old wedding ring. I will have to have them put diamonds back in the ring guard but the stone is really pretty. It is definitely tanzanite like - looks blue or purple in different lighting. Marty got to see it in the sun and said it looked purple in the sun. He even said it was a nice stone.

Here it is on my finger. I need my ring sized big time.

Congrats, I LOVE the color Marcy!!!

Thanks Skippy, I think it is blue but when I put it by my sapphire you can tell it''s violet. I haven''t compared it to my tanzanite yet. Mmm, I should go do that.

Marcy I love it, it is beautiful.

We don''t know where we are going on vacation next year, we will have to wait and see.
We do want to make it to Wyoming in the future though
36.gif

Thank you Linda. The color didn''t really turn out exactly right in the photos. I am anxious to get the ring finished.

If you ever come camping in Wyoming I hope I''ll get a chance to come see you.

Marcy,

If we ever come to Wyoming, it would to see you in the first place and to go camping, tee hee.

Love, Linda
