Oh my gosh, I am allergic to cats and dogs too! I love dogs though and hubby loves cats so we have no pets, just the turtle. hehe I bet your students love you!!! Do you have a favorite planet or star?

This is my prozac in a dish - it''s full of all genuine gemstones.

Skippy, my favorite planet to see naked eye is Venus. My favorite planet in a telescope is Saturn. Sirius is my favorite star to see - it''s so bright. My favorite constellation is Orion and my favorite thing to see in the sky is Pleiades (also called the Seven Sisters). It is a little asterism of stars in Taurus. Too strange we are both allergic to cats and dogs. I think you have a lot of allergies too. Sometimes it''s easier to tell people what I am not allergic to. Ha Ha.

Some of my favorite flowers. I plant several buckets of flowers around our house in the summer and love to take close up photos of them.
I love pansies, are they pansies? You can put them on cakes and they look so pretty! Do you grow roses too?

LOL, true true! You have a great memory! I should learn more about stars, my sister has a wonderful telescope. Maybe I will call her up to see if I could peek at the stars one evening!

Skippy, yes the purple flowers are pansies. They would be lovely on a cake.I had some pink and yellow roses but they died due to neglect on my part.I just mentioned to Marty yesterday I should get some roses again because now I would actually take care of them since I don’t mind going outside and working on the yard now.Oooh, you should get together with your sister and look through the telescope. There are so many cool things out there to see.I find it very peaceful and relaxing just to set out and look at the stars.

Here is a photo of the skies from our summer stary party in Wyoming. This is at 9100 feet.

Oh how beautiful! I was up in Wyoming recently--unfortunately for a funeral, but it was just turning fall and so pretty. I love the dry cold weather up there, such a change from where I live! How cool that you know that old church. It was my FIL''s favorite place. He passed away recently. He was born and raised in Wyoming--I had never met anyone who loved a state so much. I have some cool photos of that church.

I love your candy dish! haHA! Prozac indeed!

What is your very favorite gem? *or gems* I''ll understand if you list 10 or so! What are your favorite colors?

Coati, I am so sorry to hear about losing your FIL; I am glad he loved living here though. Many people who live here absolutely love Wyoming and I am one of them. You should post some of your photos of that church, I would love to see them. I can see the church clearly in my mind but don't know if I have any photos of it. Fall is my favorite time of year here. It's usually pretty nice and sunny during the day and the skies are usually clear at night. We have fairly low humidity here too which is nice since I only allow myself about 15 minutes to paint my nails before going to bed.

My prozac candy dish did actually come about when I made a bad mistake at work and got in a lot of trouble for it (human error that got lots of unwanted attention). I am such a perfectionist I was very upset at myself and was pretty depressed for awhile. It was something I wanted for quite a while so I ordered one of the assorted 100 ct kits of flawed and chipped gemstones for $29.00 just to cheer myself up. It was so cool, I ordered another pack this time of just the assorted gemstones for a few dollars more. Then I bought the crystal dish to put them in. That year I used my birthday money to order tiny little stones of each type of gemstone. There is even a 2mm alexandrite in there. I bought tweezers and would just dump them out on a whilte plate and look at them. I often buy loose stones to see if I am interested in using them in jewelry. If I don't end up wanting them for jewelry and they didn't cost me too much, I will just dump the gemstone in my dish. The old stones I take out of jewelry get dumped in there as well. My favorite gemstones are in order of preference, royal blue sapphire, pink sapphire, tanzanite, spessartitie garnet, rhodolite garnet, tsavortie garnet, pink spinel, green sapphire, teal diamonds, aquamarine, golden beryl, ametrine, rubellite tourmaline, ruby, emerald, amethyst, pink tourmaline and london blue topaz. Not too long of a list, eh? LOL!

Marcyc--just read about your mom--I'm so sorry she's not well. Dealing with ailing parents is never easy. You sound like a wonderful daughter. Thanks for the kind words about my FIL. I'm going to dig out those photos and post them for you.

I love your prozac in a dish story, and what a great way to escape your troubles-gems!
We have many a gem in common, Marcyc.

(Sorry about your work incident--I can relate!!--glad a dish of gems was born, though!) I would have so much fun sorting through your gems! Do you lay them all out and arrange them in different ways?

Do you have a group shot of all of your jewelry and gems together? I'd love to see!!

Fall is my favorite time of year too. In Los Angeles--we get a very subtle seasonal shift. Nothing like WY! I'm so thrilled that you live there!

You and Marty sound like me and my hubby--lots of play all the time! What are your favorite things to do as a couple?

Coati, thanks for looking up those photos for me.Your FIL loved a beautiful place.

I try to be a good daughter. My sisters make me a bit irritated sometimes but there isn’t much I can do about it.One is bitter and resentful and takes it out on my mom and the other is overly sensitive and can’t rise above it.No parent is perfect and things that happened in the past are gone – deal with it and move on.I realize my mom will not be with us for long (months, years, who knows?) and I for one will not be feeling bad I didn’t spend time with her when I could. You can’t fix things after someone is gone and I don’t want to have any regrets.I am the family moderator if you can’t tell.

I do play with my loose gemstones quite a bit.I look through my dish to find a certain stone or shape.Watching me with tweezers is pretty funny in itself.

Marty and I like to go for rides in the mountains, go shopping, wander around the mall, walk in the park, we watch a lot of movies at home and tease each other quite a bit.Our daily exchange while I am cooking supper is something like “What’s for dinner?”I say “Poison.”Then I get the ice cube on my neck and so it goes. When I pack our lunch for work I write things like “warning contains rat poison” or put a skull and cross bones on his sandwich bag.His friends now call my cookies “death cookies”.We both like to work on jigsaw puzzles. We like to camp and star gaze together. One time he managed to scare me about 3 times in one day so I decided I was going to scare him.He was in our bedroom so I went in to the spare bedroom and was waiting for him to walk by.The longer I waited the more I couldn’t help starting to giggle, he heard me giggling so never came walking by.I finally came out and asked him why he didn’t come looking for me and he said it wasn’t too hard to tell where I was since the giggling gave me away.I guess I am not a good “hider”.What do you guys like to do for fun?

Marcy, you cracked me up about your hiding and giggling. I did that once to Rick and he could tell right away where I was. You and Marty sound just like Rick and I. A close and loving couple. It is so wonderful to see that. You both enjoy eachothers company, as Rick and I do. By the way, do you have myspace?? I do!!

Linda

I''m just dieing laughing - picturing you yelling out while driving around a corner. That''s a good one! Love your prozac dish! I think that would certainly make a good happy pill for me as well!

Marcy, how do you meet your hubby? How long have you been married?
35.gif
Where do you love to clothes shop? hehe

How are they knees sweetie? hugs!

Hi Skippy, my knees are about the same. Thanks. I have good days and bad days but they can take so much more these days so overall they aren't too bad. How are your knees? I am having problems with my left thumb joint these days. It is bone on bone and gets swollen and painful quite a bit. I keep waiting for a quick, easy and cheap fix for that. Tee hee.

ETA: my thumb is probably from using my left hand to feed negatives through the printer for year after year.

They hurt less and less but I pay attention to them and make sure I don''t overwork them. i am sorry, I hope and pray they get better soon friend! Oh no, have you seen the doctor about that? I hope it gets better, so sorry friend, no fun for sure!!! Any new goodies??? I love your dish of goodies!!!

Marcy, I loved ready how you and your hubby met. That was such a sweet story. I am also sorry that you mother isn''t well.

Love, Linda

Skippy, I am glad to hear your knees hurt less and less and it’s a good idea to pay attention to them.I actually have not gone to see a doctor about my thumb joint but if anything is going to get me to a doctor soon that is probably going to be it.I did just dump an oval spessartite in my dish a few weeks ago.I thought of using it in a ring but have been wanting only RB stones lately so decided it would add some color and sparkle in my dish. That is neat you met your husband at work too.Marty and I knew each other for 7 months when we got engaged then got married 9 months later.Congratulations on being together with your husband for 11 years.I like the clothes in Ann Taylor but haven’t bought anything from them yet. They have one in the mall we go to in Denver.I usually go there after Macy’s and Eddie Bauer so I usually think I have bought enough by then.Yes, I am a clothes horse.

Thank you Linda.I know it is rough on my dad dealing with my mom so I try to help out when I can.She won’t admit when she feels bad and has trouble with things like balancing the check book.He keeps asking her if she doesn’t want me to do it for her but she likes to keep doing things for herself and I think as long as she can that is the best thing for her to do.

Joflier, I am glad I gave you a good laugh. There are a couple of corners here in town I slow down until everyone is way ahead of me so I can zip around them and yell oh no we’re going to die.My friends think I am a flake.Tee hee.I highly recommend a dish of gemstones to soothe the mind and spirit.

Lol. I''ll put that on my christmas list for dh.....see what he thinks about that!!

Yes me too! I bet you look beautiful, sugar!

Linda and Skippy, it is shorter (about an inch or so) and has more layers cut in to it and then framed around my face. I'll try to take a picture of it tomorrow to post. Let's hope it turns out when I try to fix it. I have no blow drying styling skills. My hair is pretty thick so it looks better layered.

You look great!

Thanks Skippy. I like it a lot better. It''s not so flat on top. I used to wear short, curly permed hair and have worked on growing it longer for over a year now but it was getting pretty straight.
