THANKS Mara, I was hoping that you would comment. I have read many of your posts as I am almost duplicating your setting (as so many people have already) but I couldn''t find your color. So you are happy with your J....does it even have the faintest hint of yellow and is it a H&A. Thanks again.

Hi Tyke..!

I originally had a G then an H and now a J. To be honest, I do see a difference in the G/H vs the J but it''s not as though it''s yellow by any means. It''s just more of a barely-there off-color from the side only. I want to stress that from the top down I don''t see a difference. Then again, I do not compare any of my other diamonds side by side to my J stone, why bother...that is not how it is naturally viewed.

I am so happy with my J that I plan to get a J again when I upgrade next year to a larger stone...because I can hardly see a difference visually and no one has ever said a thing about it not looking colorless. From the top down this thing is blazingly white.

My stone is not a technical H&A, but it was one of WF''s expert selections...I adore it, it is very precisely cut and I don''t know why it wasn''t labeled a true H&A. This stone also looks more CRISP somehow than my old ES WF H...so even though I went down in color a bit, the stone is more of an eye-popper for me and I think it''s by far my favorite out of all my stones.

Did you see the J stones in Platinum thread I started in RockyTalky? That is part of what convinced me to go for the J stone, having seen all these other amazing beautiful well-cut J stones. It clinched it for me. I would check it out.

That said sometimes people just do not like lower colored stones. To each their own but I am not color sensitive. The J does not bother me at all and it allowed me to get a larger stone. Some people can see the difference between D and F and H etc but I am really not one of those people. The small nuances are SOOOO minute that to me they are not even considerable.

To be honest if you are considering an okay cut H EGL and a H&A J..I think that the J would win me over hands down, the CUT especially but also that an EGL graded H may be more like an I and the cut does mask some color. So your EGL H may look like that H&A J. It''s hard to really say what your eye will see though!

Hope this helps....!

Thank you so very much....your opinion obviously counts to so many people on this board. I appreciate your time, and your thoughts. Thanks for putting that thread up also for "Js in platinum". I couldn''t make a decision withouth the board and all of your help! Thanks again.

Also some people can see the color, I can but dont find it unatrractive. Thus far the warmer colors have seemed diffrent but not unattractive.

Exactly, Mat...I can see some color but it''s so slight and ''barely there'' but I find that I like it on my skin tone, which is more medium...and felt like my G and H were a bit ''too white'' for me if that makes sense and kind of used to ''glare'' on my hand. Doubt I''d like a D on my hand. So I''m happy with the J family!
