Wedding Mandarine or anyone else who used rocks for guest books...where did you get them?

We''re thinking about using the small, flat rocks that people write messages on instead of a guest book, but I''m at a loss for where to find them (and find them cheap)! All suggestions appreciated!

*bump*
any ideas?

I tried googling river rocks, but all I find are dark or mixed, and I don''t think markers would show up!

If you use dark ones you can write on them with a permanent silver marker. That will show.

What about Ikea? I''ve gotten rocks there to use for plants. But theirs include light and dark stones.

I think Pier One carries river rocks. I know they used to anyway. Maybe you could check with them.

Thanks goldenstar, selkie, and zoe! I was all ready to order the ones selkie suggested because that is exactly what I was looking for, until I realized the shipping would be more than the cost of the stones! If I can''t find them anywhere, that''s definitely a backup!

I so need to go check my local pier one, and a friend of mine suggested a place called AC More (sp?) that she thinks has them, but my problem is now that I finally got the invitations done, which I had been working on every night for a few days, I feel this urge to do everything NOW NOW NOW! I really feel like I need to slow down and just wait...especially since I won''t be able to get out to any stores until next weekend.

Of course...I was just at walmart, and although they didn''t have any light river rocks to buy, their entire gigantic parking lot was lined with the perfect rocks....hmm...no one would notice a crazy bride sitting on the curb pocketing 200 rocks now, would they?

Can you picture the headlines?
"Bride arrested by rent-a-cops at WalMart for theft, honeymoom in the slammer"

mmm, too many words, but my brain is fried, someone else give it a try, sorry I don''t know where to get rocks!

Haha, isn''t it amazing what weddings (well, planning them) can make us think about doing? It really is a form of temporary insanity!

Home Depot doesn''t have anything suitable? Do you have a local garden shop/nursery?
