Mandarin/Spessartite Garnets

Hi Everyone!

I''m new to the forum. Been really enjoying all of the colored gemstone threads.

I have a quick question. I recently purchased a pair of heart shaped "mandarin" spessartite garnets, .50 ctw.

I would like to get them made into some simple stud earrings. I am unsure of who I could go to that would be able to do this for a reasonable price. I would preferrably like someone in Los Angeles, but am open to suggestions for someone reputable who I might need to ship the gems to.

I think there''s a picture attached. Hehe. Hopefully! Still trying figure all of this out.

Here is a page from the Stuller catalog. Jewelers can order these and set your garnets. I''d ask around various shops near you, because the prices they charge for setting can vary a lot. Link

Welcome to PS. You have some lovely spessartite garnets there. I love the heart shape stones too. You''ve got my advice already - find something online you want, take it around to different jewelers and get prices. Simple studs should be pretty reasonable. I can''t wait to see them finished.

the orange bug is hard to cure once bitten. i think you''ll like your earrings.
