I have a loose diamond, and want to make a diamond ring, but i am wondering how to make sue you will actually get your real diamond back with ther ing, because I can't tell just by my eye. Could anyone to help?
ask to view it under a microscope at the jewellers and make a diagram and show it to the jewellery and let them know you will compare it after setting.
alternatively your diamond may have an inscription on the girdle
Definitely do your research and make sure that you trust the lab, the jeweler, etc. We sell a lot of loose diamonds on our website, http://www.dianerdiamonds.com to people who intend to turn them into rings. We make sure our stones come with a certification and a clear description of the diamond so that if there is any confusion down the road, they always have something that they can use for clarification.
In my 20+ years in this industry, I must say that this is very rare. But again, make sure that the jeweler doing the transformation is trusted, credible and accountable.
Hope this helped.
