I had my makeup trial on Saturday and lets just say it wasn''t at all what I thought it would be. I thought since I was paying $40 that we would try out at least three different looks on my face. The makeup artist did one look that I wasn''t at all thrilled about. On top of that she used my concealer, my powder and my lipsticks. I asked her to put on false lashes and she tells me I don''t need them because my lashes are thick and long already.

So I get an email from her yesterday saying she think we should have another trial because she got her MAC products in. Now I stated to her that I only use MAC and I wanted MAC on my face but guess what she didn''t have ANY MAC products with her. She used my MAC products. So she tells me she wants to do my makeup over because she wants to add lashes (which I asked her to do Satuday) and make my eyes pop.

So I email her back and tell her that I feel she should give me another trial for free because she used my products first of all and second she didn''t have an concealer for my skin tone or anything. She emails me back and tells me that she''ll redo my trial for $30.

Doesn''t this should like some bull****? What would you ladies do?

I''d find a new makeup artist. I''m sorry this happened.

This brings up memories of my horrible experiences with my 3 hair trials!

Find a new one!!

Since you use MAC products, go spend $50 on more makeup and get a free trial at MAC!

That''s a great idea, Courtney. Definitely get some makeup out of it, at least then if you hate the trial you''ll still walk away with something.

I took your advice and went to MAC on my lunch break. I was told I had to buy $50 worth of products but that actually wasn''t true. I was able to buy the concealer I always use and I bought an eye shadow (it wasn''t necessary). She did an excellent job and she actually does makeup on the side for $75. So I got her number and she''s doing my makeup for my wedding. I am so excited. I''ll try to post pictures in a few.

That''s great, but $75? And the $50 product purchase with a free makeover is the case at most MAC''s. Maybe not that one.

I''m glad you found a good artist though.

That''s great that you got someone else to do your make-up. I wouldn''t have paid that first girl another penny after she used your own products and didn''t do as you asked.

I''d find someone else

I mean my goodness I''ll do your makeup for free if I can use your stuff... that''s just insane.

Yay, glad that it all worked out for you! It''s been my experience as well that while MAC tells you about the $50 product purchase requirement when you make your appointment, they don''t actually enforce it once you''re there. They will ask you if you''d like to purchase anything, but I haven''t gotten a hard sell.
