On the off-chance that any UK jewellery students are members here can I tell members about an event next weekend at Goldsmiths' Hall in London. The worshipful Company of Goldsmiths (assaying and certifying and hallmarking precious metals in England since 1340) are holding their annual event for UK jewellery students.

In attendance will be peeps from Boodles and Theo Fennell among the speakers, plus representatives of just about every aspect of jewellery making in the UK - plus the opportunity to see how assaying and hallmarking is actually done (every piece is checked for quality before being stamped)
There'll also be demos and instruction - full list of exhibitors and info on everything to do with hallmarking
