Hi everyone
i''m new here and my engagement (hopefully) is right around the corner...I found this site AFTER i purchased the ring. The specs of the Center stone are as followed:
cushion modified brilliant
6.66 x 5.62 x 3.69 mm l/w ratio: 1.185 roundup = 1.19
1.14 carat
color: H
clarity: SI1
total depth: 65.7%
table size: 65%
girdle: medium to Thick, Faceted
culet: none
polish: excellent
symmetry: very good
fluorescence: none
comments: additional clouds are not shown
Now from what i''ve read there is no perfect table size for cushion cut stones...but from what i''ve read here i have learned that you should stay in the 50''s...mine is 65% which now i know is too large...but is this a significant factor with regards to fire/brilliance? and is my depth % more in the ball park? Basically I want to know if I bought a good stone for $3762 + tax
This center is surrounded by 32 2point stones in 14k gold which imitates the Tiffany Novo (setting cost me $700)...actually the original deal was for 24 2point stones around the band but they messed up lol...after the owner saw it he was like "aahh whatever"...so I thiiiiiink I made out well...my total purchase price was about $4,700 (including tax)....is this a pretty good deal???
And lastly, the ring came in a 4 prong setting which IMO is making it look like a princess cut diamond instead of a cushion (im guessing the large table is giving this effect as well)...what can I do to make the center stone look more round? I feel like the 4 prongs are large and giving an appearance of 4 corners...will a split-prong style go with the corner curvature? they were going to charge me an additional $150 for the split-prong setting which I declined...with a 1.19 l/w ratio is it harder to give it a rounder appearance? plleeeeaaaseeee help me make my cushion a bit more cushiony
