I was thinking and can''t seem to find any answers by searching here. How do you maintain trinity rolling rings? or even just rings that are a combo of white, yellow, and/or rose gold? My main question is around rodium plating of the white gold. If it''s attached to rose and/or yellow gold how do you rodium plate it without affecting the other golds? or do you not?

say this ring for example

I have a generic 18k tri-color rolling ring, but I''ve only had it for about 8 months, so it hasn''t started to yellow at all. If I need to have it rhodium dipped, I think they would just do one half, then move the other two bands to the other side and do the other half. I think it''s fairly easy becaues there are 3 loose bands. For white gold bands with rose or yellow gold heads (like the picture you posted), they''d just dip the base and leave the head alone...I think.

My jeweler said they can just rhodium one band. Not sure about exactly how this works, but he said it isn''t a problem.

A jeweler can selectively rhodium flash by applying a barrier to areas he/she does not want rhodiumed

Ahh that makes sense!

Some more insight, they actually have rhodium pens and devices that have more precision to rhodium selective areas.
