If anyone has a good macro photo of perfectly seated diamonds in a prong, please post it. I would like an example to take with me to my jeweler (a picture being worth 10000 words right? I need an extreme close up, macro, to show how the diamond should be seated and cupped by the prong.
Gypsy I want profile showing the way that a diamond should be seated within the notch in the prong, similar the ones in my prong risk thread, but done properly
I would look at some of Mara and Ellen's old threads. Both are good photographers and both had well set diamonds. You can also ask Jon or Wink for photos for help. I'm sure either would be happy to help you.
Enerchi is a better photographer than me, but here's my fiancee's ring, which shows that even a random jeweler in suburban New Jersey, dealing with a stone that has a shallow crown, can still set a notch properly. (Rightmost prong is at the best angle - the perspective does weird things but of the shots I rattled off in 2 minutes this is the best.)
