Anyone buy a hardwood floor from them and if so did you use their authorized installers?

DH and I decided to get rid of our carpets downstairs (except for the family room and the kitchen is tiled) and put down hardwood floors. Liquid Liquidators seems to have the best prices and we have picked out a Brazilian cherry which is pretty durable compared to the red oak we have in our hallway. (we will be tearing out the red oak in the foyer and hallway..I hate this floor!)Our upstairs hall, staircase, and family room have a berber carpet which we decided to keep.

The installation for the 600 sqt feet will be $1250.00 and the floor itself is $3.39 per sq ft. We think this is a good price and we will have the floor done in a day rather than waiting for DH to get it done.

We''ve bought flooring from Lumber Liquidators, but installed it ourselves. We''ve been very pleased with the maple we bought, and it''s holding up well.

That''s good to hear, Rainwood! When we redo our floors, that''s where we''re planning on buying.

When we did the addition to our home, I would have if Home Depot didn''t do a price match. At LL we would have had to go with a higher priced cork to match the thickness of the one offered at HD. Bamboo was of a much greater thickness at HD as well as the boards being more robust.

The brands were a little different, but they didn''t care, they saw a big sale coming thier way and were willing to make a deal.

Lucky for me, I knew what to look for in the boards and what I wanted for my home.

I installed the bamboo on my own as well as the cork. In another life, I used to do that for money. My husband was my helper (he mainly just opened boxes..lol), he has no idea how to do those things.

We had the oak installed by a friend of mine in the business because it was in the biggest room in the house. Personally I didn''t want to take it on because that meant doing 700sqft of floor.

I had tiled the bathroom, and installed bamboo and cork for closets and bedrooms, that was enough for me.

Ditto!

naw....naw....

Because on top of the fee I''d have to have a manicure and chiropractic allowance lol

I was in college when I was doing floors on the regular. Pay was good and I could work it around my classes. I can''t even imagine doing that type of work daily these days and not only because of the state of my hands took years to make them somewhat ladylike.

When I worked on our house I was reminded how young I wasn''t. I''m forever thankful we have a hot tub and access to a chiropractor, because I used both a lot.
