I have been looking at princess cuts and recently stumbled onto the lucere diamond. However I only saw it in passing on a billboard and did not find out where to see one! I looked on the Cut by Gauge website but can't find out if they have any B&M retailers they distribute to or are only an online establishment.

I had found a LEO princess cut that is interesting but I have not been hearing very good things about the quality of their cut. Here are the dimensions:

4.45 x 4.42 x 3.35
0.54 carat
Depth = 75.8%
Table = 83%
clarity = VS(1)
Color = E
Polish = very good
Symmetry = good

I realize that the table percentage is a larger than usual. Should I be wary of this stone? I can get it for around $2000

thanks

Luceres are hard to come by, I have been lucky enough to see a 1.8 Lucere cut from a 2.01 Asscher, so that was a really interesting thing. The table should be very much like the Asscher with three steps on the crown, and have a high crown angle, and a fairly low depth and table, although I am not sire of the numbers. If you are REALLY deadset on a Lucere, perhaps the guy I know may have some in your size, but he's based out of NYC...

send a mail to [email protected] let me know where you are in the world and I will direct you to the Cut By Gauge Lucere distributor closest to you.

This is not the branded Lucere, Nicrez is it? I remember you were at some point considering a stone being cut for you from an EC... is this it?

The Lucere I saw was made by a cutter in the NE US region. I have to say that I don't want to give away their name, but they actually used the Sarin to take the best proportions and the best larger shape to recut into a Lucere, since most of their rough was already alotted. Plus the square EC they chose was not as desirable i supposed, because they were willing to recut it and lose the extra carats!!!

Don't give away their name unless you want to get them in trouble.

The Lucere is a trademarked brand and cutters should not be offering their own "Luceres" unless they want to get hit for trademark infringement.

I emailed Cut by Gauge and they replied that day. They referred me to a B&M jewelry store right in my town (my own jeweler) who is a distributor. Email then and you will get the answer to your question.
