I am looking at a diamond in the H/I range and am wondering if it will look whiter in a platinum setting, or white gold setting?

Thanks!

A well cut stone will look very white and absolutely great in a platinum setting. Is the stone you are looking at graded by a reputable lab, like GIA or AGS? Do you know the quality of the cut? Do you have a sarin/brilliant scope?

I''d go with the platinum or white gold, unless you really just prefer the look of yellow gold.

It''s an Ideal cut by GIA standards.

I am opposed to yellow gold, but am debating between the white gold and platinum. It''s an additional $600 for the platinum but I''d probably go for it if it made that much of a difference in the look of the diamond.

Go for the platinum! The ring will have a more substantial feel to it. I have a few WG pieces that need to be replated with rhodium every so often and that can get expensive unless your jeweler will do it for free.
