Late this morning (11:30am) I took the dog for a short walk and on the way back I started to get a little light headed. Thought maybe my blood sugar was low so I ate lunch. After half and hour I went upstairs to take my bp. My heart started to beat a little harder (not pounding) and I started to get even more lightheaded. I had a tough time finding my pulse and even couldn''t get the bp cuff to get my bp and pulse rate. When I did it was around 42.

Called DH (he''s out of town), then called neighbor who is a nurse. At the time she said my bp was pretty high, but she attributed it to anxiety as I was not feeling well. Also, said my pulse was low but not too low.She listened to my heart and said everything sounded ok. I called the doctor and made an appointment for tomorrow.

It is now after 4pm, DH said he will make it home by 5pm. At this very moment I feel very lousy and lightheaded sitting down. I will call the doctor in a minute to see if he will see me tonight oir if I should go to the hospital.

Any doctors out there? Should I worry? Anyone else ever experience this?

If I feel worse before DH comes home I will call my neighbor to drive me to either the doctor''s or hospital.

My mom experienced something similar last year and actually ended up fainting in the shower. She went to the doctor and had to wear a heart monitor thing for a week. I forget the diagnosis - it was something fairly mild and she''s not on meds for it, but it was definitely worth going to the doctor to find out. Her problem is that her heart rate will change, fast to slow, randomly which was causing the light headed feeling.

I''m not a doctor, so I don''t know if you should go to the emergency room or anything, but I think at least a doctor''s visit is in order. Good luck!

Right now I am waiting for the doctor to call me. I am trying to stop myself from crying. Don''t want DD to see me upset.

Awww, (((hugs))) I really hope you can see the doctor soon (for your own peace of mind) and I hope it''s nothing serious.

Thanks for the info elrohwen. Right now my pulse went up to 65 and I am feeling much better. The doctor just wanted to make sure someone was here to make sure I was ok at night. DH was out of town and raced home to take care of me. It took him almost 10 minutes to find my pulse and asked me if I was dead and just didn''t know it. I wanted to kick him so badly but probably would have passed out.

Seeing the doctor in the morning for an evaluation and blood work and we will go from there. This is the second time in a little over a week that this has happened so I better get it checked out.

Hope you feel better soon, and figure out what the problem is, Sooocool. Doesn''t sound like you had a very fun day.
