They've patented two new cuts of diamonds that, as a step-cut fan, look pretty

to me but whatevs! It's news nonetheless. Also .. the article reveals that the crisscut began as a MISTAKE!!

This thread is worthless without pix.

Very pretty for a pendant or something maybe...weird that LV is getting into the diamond market though!

They would make very pretty earings, but I can''t help thinking they would be really expensive....

Dont you know LV[MH] and DeBeers are partners???

Check out the LILY cut (accidentaly cut by a DeBeers DTC Sight-Holder and partners with the Slowensky (aka: CrissCut)...

1+1+1=2??

i like to put that clover on a ring and take it to vegas... then, maybe it''ll pay for itself.

Lol. Wouldn''t surprise me that''s for sure!

Paging Neatfreak to the "bad bad cushion bezel thread" ... have a treat for you!

I saw those in W mag and I was wondering when they''d show up here!

I think they would be really cool for a pendant or bracelet.

They look really strange to me. The clover one looks like 4 boobs to me.

These diamonds are the LV logo....thats what the appeal is based on. It is really a brilliant concept considering its taking a massively prestigious & popular logo to the ultimate in having it shaped from a diamond!!!!! Plus they do look kind of attractive in their own right (boobs aside)!!!!

I am aware they are the LV logo but the diamonds are still not something I am jumping for joy over. I am actually a huge LV fan and own more purses than I will admit to my boyfriend. Although I own a lot of monogram purses, I try to stay away from being a walking advertisement.

I''m not a fan. That''s okay they are probably crazy expensive anyway!

They''re not LV diamonds--they are DeBeers. DeBeers has partnered with LVMH(Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey). It''s their way of getting around US antitrust law--as I understand it.

Thanks for the clarification.

They would definitely make interesting earrings or a pendant...not so much for a ring.

I like it for a pendant...but don''t ya think you''d need a LARGE diamond for it even to look nice? I think even a half carat wouldn''t look that great...so your talking about a HUGE chunk of change for one of those...

I''ve seen many of these in the past year, mostly at around a carat. They''re being recut from princesses, losing sometimes up to .50 cts in the process. Given that, they''re surely priced quite high. The pointed flowers are quite pretty though- i would love to see them as simple stud earrings.

Thanks for the info. It is very interesting that these are recuts and not cut from scratch.

Unfortunately most of the inclusions in princess tend to be near the center and would not be chopped out producing these stones from recuts.
Also I would bet that the right proportions for Princess would not be right for these stones - so there is an opportunity for people with ray tracing stones with concavities.

It clearly matches their logo flowers, but hey, as an earring or pendant it could be fun...though not at what they are likely to charge for it.

You are an optimist....

Imho, *yawn* - I''m not a big fan of being "labeled out" from head to toe, though I certainly know what kinda market they are aiming at here..many other shapes on my shopping list before these, lol..

i can''t imagine this being something that will be sought after beyond a certain target group.

I think they are pretty but not spectacular. I''d be just as happy with another antique diamond or another asscher

Thanks for posting. They are pretty but the markup will likely be insane.

Hmmm, I don''t think I''m going to run to the LV store anytime, but it might be fun to check out their new line. I''m sure as others said that the markup would be insane and I''m not really loving those new cuts...although I can see some LV lovers going nuts over this though.
