Im thinking about getting engaged this summer. My girlfriend and I visited a number of stores (Tiffany''s, DeBeers, etc), and she seemed to really like the Lucida setting (as did I). I am also a fan of the classical emerald setting, but am not sure if it would suit her, as her hands/fingers are on the smaller/shorter side. From experience, which would you think would look better?
Another issue is that my budget is around the $13K mark, and I think that the emerald solitaire only looks good in larger ct. Am I wrong? Furthermore, I am a fan of quality over quantity, and have settled around the 1.5ct mark for a solitaire. I know, from reading other posts, that it''s easier to compare actual stones, but in general, does the difference in color between an F and a G justify the sometimes significant price difference?
Also, the Vache setting is expensive. What is the best alternative? Any otehr opinion of the best diamond/setting for my money? Looking forward to your feedback.
