Hi everyone,
My husband and I are nearing our 10th anniversary and we are interested in purchasing a new diamond ring. In order to fund the purchase we will be selling my original engagement ring. We live in New Jersey and we are really not sure about how to move forward.
I currently have a GIA certified 3.03 carat, emerald cut solitaire ring set in platinum. It has a G color grade and an SI1 clarity grade. In addition,it has a depth of 71.1% and a table of 66%. (I am told that the table percentage could be better and it will effect the value of the stone). We are interested in purchasing a cushion cut of similar size.
Could anyone provide some guidance on where the best place is to sell the original ring? I was told it is best to have two separate transactions: the first being selling the first ring/stone and the second being purchasing the new ring/stone.
Second, and insight into the cushion cut would be helpful. I was told with the emerald cut the clarity was very important . . . anything to keep our eyes out for with the cushion?
thanks!!!
