Hi:
I am looking to purchase a loose diamond, however, I have not seen the diamond, nor seen pictures.
I only have the GIA report.

I have attached the GIA report.

I can order it and if and if I am unhappy they do have a full-money-back return policy. However, I am in a time constraint, so if I am unhappy with the diamond then my “planned” proposal will be completely messed up.

I spoke with the company and they assured me that the diamond is an extremely clean SI1. I have the option to have the diamond sent to a third party appraiser before having it shipped to me, that way I have a little piece of mind.

Carat Weight: 1.23
Color: D
Clarity: SI1
Cut Grade: Excellent

I plugged the specs into the HCA and got a 1.1.

I think this diamond has great proportions, looks great on paper, however not being able to see the diamond to view the inclusions concerns me. I am concerned with the cloud in the table and the indented natural.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Since the cloud is the grade making inclusion and others havn't been plotted, I would want a gemilogist to assess the stone for me. I would want to be assured that it didn't impact brilliance and performance. The natural doesn't concern me personally and likely has no negative impact but the clouds could potentially cause issues. If you are confident that you can assess the stone properly on your own, you certainly order it and take a look or hire an independent appraisser to evaluate it for you, otherwise I would recommend working with a vendor that at the very least has access to stones and can provide magnified images if not idealscope images for you.

Clarity is going to be an issue. Skip this stone.

Hey Guys:

Thanks for the replies.
I assumed this would be a nice diamond - going by proportions and specs and HCA grade of 1.1.

So is it safe to say that for all diamonds or at least SI1 should always be inspected in person and with a loupe.

Thanks again.

Usually si1 clouds are not a problem.
