I am new to the site!! I have been reading and learning alot from you guys!!
I have lots of questions and I figure you guys could help.

First, I am looking for someone who carries just channel set mountings for a wedding band. I would like to use my own diamonds. I am getting a new setting made! YAY.
My husband will be buying a new center stone( RB). We are trying to find a decent one for a fair price. I am looking for anything between .70 and .85. For me, this is a huge diamond!!LOL
The setting I am having made is 18kt wg cathedral with really thick heart prongs, I am a hopeless romantic!
I will post some pics of my original ring next week. My husband is out of town and has our camera.
If anyone can help lead me in the right direction!

I am really excited to be here

why don''t you have the person who is making your other setting also re-do your wedding band?

what''s a "fair price" for your center stone?

I agree about having whomever is making your new setting do your wedding band. I''m not a jeweler but I''m not sure you can by a premade channel set band. I would think they''d need your stones to make it and it would have to be custom

. There are a few vendors who do custom and could use your stones to make your band if that''s what you might be interested in doing but since you''ve found someone to do your e-ring I''d probably stick with the same company if possible.

I am going to get it done at the same jeweler but I am wondering if I could look at some mountings before I decided.
I have tried everything to find some mounting of a channel set wedding band(without the stones) and I am not having anyluck.
Does anyone know of some companies??

I was thinking around $2000.

I am a little confused as to why you want to see channel-set bands without stones if you plan to have the band custom made. It seems like seeing one with stones the same size as yours would be fine to show your jeweler to go by. About the most extensive selection is found at Facets (see site under Resources/bendors above).

I''m a bit confused too. There isn''t much variation in channel set bands. What size stones do you have?

Facets website is http://www.thefacetscollection.com/home.cfm. they sell channel set bands in a bunch of different sizes so you could get a pretty good idea of how''s yours will look. I honestly do not know of any pics of just the band without the stones, sorry I can''t be of more help

I am sorry I am not be clear!!
I am trying to find different prices on the gold I guess!

I am just trying to compare thats all.

Maybe you could have someone like Wink to make a ring for you with your diamonds. Winfield''s

My hunch is that you won''t save much by using your diamonds to have a custom channel set band made as opposed to buying one ready-made from somewhere like Facets. Those tiny diamonds are not very expensive and you''d be paying labor to have the piece custom made. Just look at what a finished band should cost on Facets to be sure the band project is even worth doing.
