Hi everyone!!

I am new in this diamond thing, because i.m about to get married, so i am looking for the best diamond for my budget. For that case I start looking over the internet for some helpful info, because I already have some choices on diamonds.

One is a .52 carat VSI1 F diamond in $ 2000 dlls. Its a EGL certificate

The other one its a non certificate diamond (???
eek.gif
) Its a .54 carat, VSI2 they say that this diamond its between E and F (?????

) and the price is $ 2500 dlls

The other is from the same jewelery bendor, and is a .52 carat, VSI1, between G and H and the price is $ 2050 dlls.

I am planning to search more, but I aprecciate all the help that you guys can give me!!!

THANKS A LOT!!!!

Hey, here are some hints that I have found out during my search.

1. In general you want a certified diamond, its proof that the stone you are getting is actually what you think it is. GIA and AGS are the best and most reliable. The others are hit or miss. sometimes they are fine and sometimes they aren't. You need to do your homework.

2. I dont know where you found our diamonds but there are a lot of online places to purchase a diamond. goodoldgold.com and pricescope.com as well as whiteflash.com are all good places to start. Online diamonds are cheaper and you can have more selection and see how everything works together. But dont pass up on some of the good online suppliers just because they are online. some are EXCELLENT! I can personally vouch for Goodoldgold, they are very good and knowledgable. IF you read their website you can learn EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about diamonds.

3. Finally, many people on this site will tell you that buying a diamond with D, E, or F color is a waste of money, same with buying a diamond with clarity VS1 or better. This is all a personal preference. if you want the biggest diamond for your money then you can drop the color and clarity down and get a very beautiful stone. If you are more interested in quality than quantity then color and clarity will be more important to you. The important thing is that you are happy with the stone.

Good luck with your search!

How do these look? I just looked for F VS1 on the pricescope and clicked on the hearts and arrows table. You can get a lot more diamond in your price range, or higher quality in your price range.

Good luck!
Colleen

In my recent experience, buying EGL is fine as long as the Diamond Report says "EGL USA" on it. My husband I just purchased a new e-ring and w-ring for our 20th annivesary and last night got my EGL USA diamond and the rings appraised by a GIA appraiser. I am happy to say that everything matched up to what the report said, even the color (which is a G and beautiful!).

If you do go with EGL USA, you can go to their website and put in the Diamond Report number and make sure it matches up with the report you are given if you buy one of their diamonds. I just like to double check everything!

You will be doing the best thing by spending time at this website and asking any questions that you may think of, because there are so many educated people here and it will do you good to take their advice!

Also, be sure where ever you buy your dimaond, you get a "satisfaction guarantee". My jeweler gave me a 30 day, cash back return policy. How could I go wrong???

Good luck and I look forward to seeing the diamond you choose for your g/f!

I FOUND IT!!!!

Thanks to you guys, Aaronka99, Cmcwill and Sunseeker, with youre advices, an info, and all the things I read in this forum, I finally made my choice. Instead of that .51 carat VSI1 F, with EGL Certificate, I went for a .35 carat, VSI1 E, with GIA certificate. I found it in 1270 Dlls the diamond and the ring in white gold, for the same price.

Now I am very happy and satisficed
