Working slowly but surely towards my dream e-ring here. I know I want an oval but cannot decide on a setting. Lately I''ve gotten an idea in mind but am having trouble finding examples.

Basically, it would be a N/S oval, with jeweled or engraved curves flaring out on either side, accentuating the shape of the oval. Kind of like a semi bezel, but sitting below the oval so they peek out on either side.

The closest thing I''ve found to this idea is actually a very cheesy CZ ring from Amazon, pic posted below. I don''t even think that is a proper oval shape, but it has the idea of the accented side curves.

I''m desparate for better examples however - has anyone seen proper diamond rings like this?

Another view of the setting.

I really like your idea and have it seen done with a round before (but I''m sure I wont be able to find that thread).
Have you looked at any of the tacori settings. They have delicate diamonds coming out from underneath but
they are full halos. You would have to tell your custom person the not make it go around the ends like in the
example you have. Also, if it were me, I would want the metal to be more delicate looking more like the tacori.

Here is a link to a tacori setting like I am talking about ...

Thanks so much for the link tyty333. I do love tacori and in general was planning on having the shank engraved in the style of their designs. I agree with you that the side elements would have to taper fully into the shape of the oval, and not be rounded ends like in the example.

What I''m envisioning is sort of an alternative to half moon diamonds on either side - a subtler curve than a full half-moon diamond would provide, but maybe still pave for that extra sparkle :)
