My gf and I were looking at rings over the last few weeks and she found this from a local jeweler and I am looking for thoughts on finding a similar or same for a lower price and a nice diamond as well to make this fit my budget a bit more.
Simon G - NR109
What size was the center diamond in the ring that your gf tried on? Also, do you know what color and clarity the stone was? And how much was the ring? Knowing more about these specifications will help us find appropriate options for you.
I have no idea what size the stone was but according to the website it is close to $5000 just for the ring not ring and stone. I would like I be in the range of $2000 to $5000 if possible.
I also have my old wedding ring and exes rings to possibly discard. Kay's will give me the amount paid if I spend double. I paid a total of $1000 so I assume it will be hard to get that from anywhere else but not sure i want to go to Kay's from what I have read here.
One feature that spoke volumes to my gf was the flat or square chaps bottom that the band has. Anything like this out there, like I said I would be happy I find a run an sine for about that $5000 or less range.

Sorry about that, sometimes I have to be secretive and unfortunately that limits me to using my phone
The one thing about this ring I posted that she liked was the flat or square shaped bottom of the ring. I think they referred to this as a European shank. She like this. I guess my price range would be in the 2-3 K range higher if needed. But I was curious if there was something similar to this that would still be in that range and just as pretty.
Also I have rings that were bought at Kay's and they stated they would give me what I paid as long as I spent double. I paid close to $1000 total, meaning I would have to spend $2000 or more. Is this worth it? Not a huge fan of Kays, but this would assist me financially.
I would love to find an inexpensive diamond to go along with it at well to stay within my budget of 2-4k.
Something with financing would be great too. Or if there are similar rings that are lower to help with price.
The hardest thing with this process is not having the chance for her to try it on first or for me not really knowing how it will look until it arrives in person.
So i spoke to the people at IDJewelry and so far I am blown away with the service. I still have some reservations about an eRing, but the way this guy carried himself is so far 1000 times better than anyone i have spoke to in stores.
He asked me a lot of questions many that I wasn't sure about, but we focused a bit on the stone and what kind of cut. I need help understanding what rings will take certain cuts, maybe just help to locate the info on Gabriel's site. Then he asked about the size or 4 c's, would anyone have any ideas of what would help me stay within budget, or possibly even lower for a bigger bang for my buck?
I will be honest, I increased my budget, but for what I am seeing I would like to go a bit lower say $2k to $3k for the set, just not sure where to start on the diamond size and etc.
I do not recall off hand how much the quoted price was, but we did discuss that there are some that will take different cuts and some that will take specific ones. My gf has mentioned she likes a princess cut, however the one she found that was a SimonG appears to be a round cut.
