Hello all,
A few weeks ago I purchased an engagement ring at the diamond district in NYC. After doing some research and shopping around, I found a stone that I liked, as well as a great band to go with it (halo setting). Once I've decided to go with the band & stone, the jeweler took me to the technician who was going to set the stone. Initially I liked it, but after a few weeks and reviewing some more pictures of halo settings online, I'm rethinking the setting. A few items that are off on the current setting in my opinion:
- The setting is skewed (this should be an easy fix).
- There is too much space between the halo and the stone. I'm not sure if there's anyway to fix this. This actually bothers me the most; it's not very 'gradual' from the halo to the stone.
My thought is to go back to the place where I purchased it, and have them re-set it in a way that I'm 100% happy with. I just hope they're able to modify the current band.
Please look at the pictures. Any constructive feedback or advice to make it look better is greatly appreciated.
