Hello all,
As many first timers, I have been trolling these boards for awhile now pulling out nuggets of info and gaining an education from a number of your posts and Q&As. Using this info I have gone out on my first diamond search. The 2 stomnes are what I have come up with. I am planning on purchasing one this afternoon but first, please give me your honest opinions on them. I am leaning neither way as the price difference is negligible. Just want to hear what everyone has to say. Thanks!

Welcome Greg!

My pick would be for the second as I prefer that it has Ideal for both polish and symmetry and it is an AGS0, but both look great. It depends on whether you want the AGS0 and higher colour/ cut and finish combo or the heavier caratage H colour. The G also has medium fluorescence which might be a nice addition ( many of us love it here!)

Either would be beautiful. The H will squeek in a teensy bit more size....Price difference is negligable.

Honestly? I''d have Tim compare them and pick the best one.

Spent the morning with mommy dearest...

H is bigger for sure and VG sym is no issue. But my choice would be G provided that it is eye-clean "from the pavilion". The cut of it is nice - it has very tight pavilion. And Medium Blue for G is cerainly a plus unless you hate fluorescence. (I like it a lot). The color is more easily seen from the profile view (both crown and pavilion). The greatest cut does not help here. But G+Med can be pretty much "F". I do not think you will not be happy with this stone. But you please check if its eye-clean from every angle if it is important to you. They will tell you straight.

Thanks for all of your help. I have not had a chance to see the 1.08 stone but have been told it is eye clean. I believe them as I spent a good amount of time with them this weekend looking at similar stones. Then again, if not, I can always return it!

Just my opinion... Go for the H. The little things it gives up as far as symmetry and whatnot are negligible and the only aspect that will most likely be noticable to the naked eye is the size increase. In stones of that size the jump in dimensions makes a larger difference than if the stone was 2ct or so. In my opinion the H is worth a serious look at, as I would prefer it''s size over anything the G may have.

Perhaps better said.... For me it''s kind of like comparing a corvette z06 to a ferrari. The ferrari gets all the attention from enthusiasts as being the best and most exotic, but at the same time if you''re a common person chances are that you would be just as impressed by a corvette Z06 without the faster 0 to 60 speed. I''m a regular person and, personally, I''d go with the larger stone as the advantages of the G are the difference between a ferrari and a corvette Z06 in a stone. Niether car/stone will go unnoticed. Ever. Might as well have the larger one. Hope that makes sense
