I have found this stone at a local retailer and was impressed. I know it is impossible to fully judge without a picture, but I am hoping that with the many discerning eyes on here I might get a decent second opinion just from the numbers.

The diamond''s Light Return, Fire, and Scintillation all rated Excellent and the Spread rated Very Good on the Holloway Cut Adviser from this website. In person, it is a striking diamond. Really jumps out at you.

As far as the inclusions, they are mostly minor “needles” or “feathers” (per the AGS report) scattered on the outer edges and well below the surface. There is one inclusion that is on the edge of the table that is barely (I mean really barely) noticeable to the naked eye. But I think this is only because I analyzed it for so long under the scope first and knew exactly where to look.

This is where I would like to know if I am getting a “fair” discount to the RAP which is what the retailer keeps referencing. At the moment it is a 10% discount. I have tried to discuss the much better deals online (plus the no sales tax!), but the retailer is adamant that it is a good deal and unfair to lower the price anymore. The price above reflects $500 that he has already dropped.

On another note, I appreciate all of the feedback and care that everyone brings to the table on this website. I have been lurking on this site for a long time and it has been critical to learning how to deal with this huge purchase and decision. So, thank you!

fill out the data from your stone then click search and see what internet pricing is on simular stones.
try in house first then all diamonds if there is too few results.

and the results show that 18700 is an exellent price for the stone....
Is a visible inclusion ok with you and your Lady?

Ditto Storm, also this diamond looks great from the info given. A clean D SI2 in that size is a rare treasure indeed, especially as you have seen it for yourself. Is the one inclusion you can spot ok with you?

Seems like a great stone at a great price! If you''re worried about the inclusion, I would bring a friend with you and have your friend try to see if he/she can see anything in the stone. It probably is just that you know where it is so you know where to look.

Feel free to post pictures if you buy it! And what type of setting are you thinking about? We love to help guys pick out settings around here!

Is there a certificate with this stone? Will the seller permit you to have it appraised before you make a commitment? And what are the return and upgrade policies? It sounds like a good deal. Good luck.

Solange, it is an AGS0 graded diamond by the look of it.

Thanks for the second opinion everyone! I think I will take a friend to take a look at it and see if they can spot anything. That way I''ll know if I am just over-analyzing the diamond.

Thanks again.
