Hi, first-time shopper here looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. We''ve done a good bit of looking together, both in B&M and online, but I haven''t found many rings which meet her (choosy) criteria.
Specifically: 1) she loves cross-prong settings, like the Lucida. 2) She also really likes the "tapering" look at the top--the pinched band up near the diamond. 3) she likes some bands which have side-stones (probably channel set, though pave she thinks is pretty as well) though that isn''t a requirement.
Last night on google I stumbled across this setting
http://www.diamonds-usa.com/setting_diamonds.asp?setting2=56518&m_id=2&shape=4&tv=0
which looks pretty much perfect for her. However, after doing some research about that vendor, I don''t think I''m comfortable buying from them. So my question to you is, where can I get a ring like that--anyone seen anything similar? FWIW, she also really liked this ring from Scott Kay (link).
Also, if it ends up I need to have a ring custom made, where are some resources on how to do that? I''m sure there are useful threads on this; could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Matt
