Hi, I'm Looking for information on rough Winza Rubys.
I own a 33ct translucent ruby looks like a crystal, not a chunk.
I was wondering if anyone had information about how much winza's generally go for, rough ball-park for roughs, and would getting it cut/cabbed increase it's value?
I am probably going to keep it either way, I was curious.
Scuze the dodgy images. And my horrific grammar/spelling.=)

From a cursory glance, it looks fairly opaque. Do you find that to be the case?

Winza material can often have quite a few inclusions, but the glassier/clearer the better. When you hold it up to light, ideally you should be able to see through it.

The material I've purchased has been (iirc) around $100-$150/ct for included sapphire (not guaranteed ruby facetable rough, that could cut 0.5-1.0 ct in size stones. Cutting helped the value of those.

Unsure for yours. I suspect yours might be better off staying as a specimen.

No idea how much rough is worth but it will largely depend on what size gem / gems can be cut from it.
to my eye it seems fairly fractured. If any of those run through the gem it will affect its value and suitability for turning into gemstones.

Thanks for the advice. It's fairly dark, but I can see the light shining through it when held up to the indirect sunlight. There are dark lines going across the ruby however it's very solid, no flaking.

And there are the classic titanium (i presume) spines throughout. The images did come out looking like a dyed lump. It has the exterior appearance of Rhodalite but a deep red throughout, it would most certainly be flawed.

When looked at through a loup and a back-lighting the lines look like this with patches of cloud, just not as clear and a slightly darker shade.
