Hi there,

I have been looking for quite a while now and very close to making my diamond purchase. I have chosen to go with a french pave - custom ring from James Allen but need help on choosing the right diamond.

I am honestly exhausted from looking at diamond pictures and looking to narrow down my choice ASAP.

Here are 5 that I am very interested in:

Any recommendations?

Thank you people of PS in advance, you guys "rock"!!!!!!!!

Not an expert, but I like the 1.20ct first, and the 1.21ct second. I'm guessing some people may advise you that you should be able to find slightly "spreadier" diamonds by selecting stones that aren't quite as deep.

Other than those two, the 1.24ct is the only other one that has HCA<2. However, my recommendation above is based only on how the diamonds appear in the photo and 360-view.

Good luck!

ETA: You should be able to request IdealScope and Hearts&Arrows images (and a gemologist's review) of the 1.20ct diamond and the 1.24ct diamond, if you have time to wait a few more days. The others are overseas diamonds, and will probably not have the option of IS & HA analysis. You can get up to three diamonds imaged and analyzed by JA, so you may want to look for a third contender, if you have time.

Both of the ones you added have HCA<2, so on paper they're worth looking at. The 1.32ct is certainly nice and spready, looks sparkly, and is a locally sourced diamond that you would be able to request IS & HA imaging on (and obviously for an SI1, ask if eye-clean).

Nonetheless, as far as my personal opinion based only on the appearance in the 360 view, I still like the appearance of 1.20ct better than the others.

Just my 2 cents, I'm sure some real experts will drop by shortly to tell you what's up.

For each of your shorlisted stones, I suggest you copy and paste the diamond specs into a post here, link the GIA certficate, and report the HCA results. That should get you more responses from others.

Also, in case you get told to go back to the drawing board, you may wish to spell out your minimum acceptable specs on the 4 C's, as well as your budget (for stone only), and a timeline if you're in a hurry.
