Hey all, first posting here, though I've been browsing pricescope and its forums for a couple months now.

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1186443.asp

They'll be sending me an idealscope image for it soon but so far the figures look good to me. It has some small occlusions on the edge which I feel could mostly be covered by a nice setting if they are even visible at all. My main concern is the symmetry which is rated at "Very Good". I noticed in the HCA this diamond scores in around 1.4, but the HCA rating is for a "symmetrical" diamond. Also, if I'm missing any other glaring details or something I should enquire to jamesallen about, please let me know.

Many thanks

Hi Sid

I will just fix the link then take a look...

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1186443.asp

Ok, it looks very promising, it is facing up a little small for 1.5cts, diameter should be more in the region of 7.4 - 7.5mm but it is a well cut stone. Inclusions in VS shouldn't be a problem, very good lab graded symmetry you won't notice the difference - normally good and above looks the same to the naked untrained eye. Could be a nice diamond, post the IS image when you get it then we can go from there.

More on symmetry - http://diamonds.pricescope.com/symm.asp

I fixed the link for you so it will be easier for people to comment.

I am not a cut expert -- but they should be along shortly. I do know enough to tell you that the stone looks like it could be very nice, just glancing at the numbers. Also, congrats to you for putting the stone on hold and for ordering an IS. You''ve obviously been reading PS long enough to get off to a great start!

Looks good so far.

Thanks for the peace of mind. I''ll be posting up some idealscope pics as soon as I have them. =)
