And pixley, I''ll do my absolute best to get pictures of the layout with the bullets. It may or may not be possible, depending on Mark--he was kind enough to have the bullets cut for me, since all three stones have to match in fluorescence! Thanks so much for chiming in--I''ve learned so much from your posts, and I really love your beautiful stone!!!
Okay I think it''s bedtime for me now, but I''ll make sure to keep you all posted as things go along!
So the options are plain or tapered bullets? Would half moons fit still without the bullets? or would that look too much a big blob o'' diamond? (I''m struggling to think what may be wrong with a big blob o'' diamond tho...
Thanks so much for your vote, angeline! Leon doesn''t recommend half moons because he thinks that the stone should take center stage (and not blend in with anything else). He suggested bullets, a simple solitaire, or french cut pave. I tinkered with the idea of french cut pave, but it really wouldn''t be practical for me with my line of work. So all things considered, bullets seem to be the way to go! I loved the look of Kellybell''s gorgeous oval with bullets, so I''m hoping to get the same effect.
Wowzers, ginormously beautiful cushion you have there!
Normally, I''d like to see it as a solitaire, but since you already have a round one, I think the bullets would look great too and make it a bit different.
One question if you don''t mind. Why do all the stones have to match in flo?
Thank you, Ellen!!! I''m definitely looking for something a bit different, yet classic.
Leon was the one who suggested matching all three stones in fluorescence. It wouldn''t matter in most lighting conditions, but if I were to be out in the high sun, he thought it might bother me if the sidestones didn''t fluoresce as well. I guess the goal is consistency. Probably not an absolute necessity since the sidestones are so much smaller, but now that he''s brought up the point, there''s no reason not to I suppose...
I've been meaning to tell you, that STONE is to die for! Shazaam! It's completely stunning.
I would be going crazy waiting to wear that amazing cushion.
Also had a brainstorm re: sidestones - did Leon have any thoughts re: step-cut shields with your stone? I saw a few rings on his sight that looked faboo.
pixley: Gosh thanks for your kind words! And yup, waiting is soooo very hard!!! I hadn''t thought about shields, thanks so much for that suggestion. The awful thing is that I keep wavering back and forth--and now (at this very minute, but subject to change at any time!) I''m thinking that maybe I should go simple solitaire instead, and get a great eternity band (like browneyedcountrygirl''s awesome BevK find!) to keep it company. Oh dear, I don''t know why I''m backtracking! But tomorrow I''ll be looking at a few pairs of bullets that Mark has kindly sourced for me, so hopefully I''ll be able to make a final decision at that point and get this project going!!!
scarlet16: I love love love your gorgeous stone and setting! I can only hope that my ring turns out as beautifully as yours.
